Portsea is the old heart of the city, wedged between the Historic Dockyard, Gunwharf and The Hard. It is a short distance from the main roads and a long way from easy in delivery terms.
Small streets, big neighbours
Portsea's street pattern is largely pre-modern: narrow terraced roads, tight corners and very little off-street loading. Its neighbours, however, are some of the busiest sites in the city — the dockyard and its visitor attractions, the Gunwharf retail and leisure estate, and the interchange at The Hard with its ferries, bus station and railway terminus.
The result is a small area with heavy pedestrian and vehicle traffic passing through it, and a delivery job that is far more about timing and vehicle size than about quantity.

Where work is happening on or beside the water, tell us if pallets need to reach a pontoon, a compound or a restricted zone. That is a different job to leaving them on a kerb and it needs to be planned rather than improvised.
How to make it go smoothly
Give us the exact street and what the loading situation is, a contact who will be there, and an idea of whether pallets have to be carried any distance from the vehicle. Splitting a larger order across two smaller drops is often quicker overall in this part of the city than trying to force one big one.
