Pallets for warehousing and distribution

The band of warehousing running along the M27 between Portsmouth, Fareham and Havant is the highest-volume pallet market in the area, and the one where getting the specification right matters most.

Why specification beats price here

In a warehouse the pallet has to work with everything else: the racking pitch, the truck forks, the wrapping machine, the trailer floor. A pallet that is ten millimetres out, warped, or built to a different height changes how a whole bay loads. The saving on a cheaper pallet disappears the first time a load has to be restacked.

That is why we would rather agree a specification with a distribution customer at the start — size, entry type, condition grade, deck configuration — than quote a price against a vague description.

Managing the flow both ways

Distribution sites take pallets in and push pallets out constantly, and most of them end up with a pile of mixed, non-standard and damaged pallets nobody planned for. Left alone, that stack grows until it takes up a bay that should be earning money.

Handling both sides of that flow — supplying what you need in and clearing what accumulates — is generally more efficient than treating them as two unrelated problems with two different suppliers.

Ordering at volume

Tell us the specification, the quantity, the delivery window and how you want the load presented. If your site runs booking-in, inductions or restricted delivery hours, we need that at the point of order rather than at the gate.

Where pallets circulate in a closed loop between your own sites, plastic pallets are worth pricing properly against timber over their working life rather than on the day-one cost.
